The subject of Jumpers in the Rye came to me in a flash while I was sketching. Young folks jumping and giggling, half-naked, at night, in a vast field of wheat... or something like that.
As usual, I tried to portrait a feeling through the movement of bodies, more than a specific situation. This painting is very special for me, 'cause for the first time I wanted to represent people being wild, as you are when you're young.
I guess I don't have to explain where the title comes from.
