July 4
Bold and painterly abstract monotype. It is created using gold metallic acrylic paint contrasting with red, blue and black organic shapes reaching for the sky.
This piece was inspired by watching the celebratory fireworks on Independence Day, 2014. When I watch fireworks I often wonder how to incorporate that sense of celebration into my artwork.
This piece was created by rolling, scraping and dripping fluid acrylic paints to a gelatin plate. I apply the paint to a gelatin plate using rollers, and spatulas and then transfer the paint to the paper.
"July 4" is a splashy bit of electric ka-pow for your art collection.
