Original artwork description:

This painting is part of my series of close up flowers. I used to be a florist and peonies have always been my favourite flower so I wanted to create a series to celebrate them. This variety, Jules Elie, is dusky pink and full of lots of subtle colours. I have used Michael Harding oils on a fine cotton Italian canvas. The painting has been framed by my framer in a sunken wooden plain frame to contrast with the florals. It is painted in an off white colour.
