A mighty apple tree that was felled in 2013 was the supplier of this sculpture and was sawn from a disc with a root strand. After a long, careful storage, the end grain has completely dried and come to rest. It was an extraordinary challenge to work on it. No more drying cracks are to be expected, the already created flow into the shape of the sculpture and this shape reflects the pure joy of life. It's a piece, nothing is put together. Parts of it are covered with 24 carat gold leaf so that the grain of the heartwood does not take a back seat. Treated twice with precious wax gives it a silk-matt, water-repellent shine. The sculpture is delivered with a 16x16 cm stainless steel stand and can be rotated on it. With a depth of 5 cm, it requires little room depth and can look like a picture when it is placed on a ledge, a protrusion or a wall plinth. The roko logo (Roland Köpfer) is carved into the base, weight 4 Kg, the work number is 406.
