Joséphine, 50 x 70 cm, paper and acrylic on canvas, 2022
It was not easy to know where Joséphine would begin and where she would end. I finally stopped at flowers. She could have had ivy, butterflies and insects but Joséphine wants to be refined, not overloaded. Quite empty in the end. A bit as if it was going against the tide of profitability, filling, overconsumption. There is space around her but Joséphine takes advantage of this silence to isolate herself in her bubble.
