This work is inspired by Richard Bach's famous novel “Jonathan Livingston the seagull”, a work published in 1970 in the United States, then in France.
Having since become a bestseller, this book praises freedom, love, and the quest for the absolute. Life goals that largely echo in the artist.
In this philosophical tale, Jonathan, the gull, leaves the shelter and safety of his group to quench his thirst for freedom and discovery.
Widely criticized, then condemned, he perseveres despite perils and difficulties…
This bas-relief wall sculpture was made in several stages.
First the sculpture of the hollow mould, then the casting of the concrete tinted in the mass by pigments and reinforced by a metal core.
After hardening for three weeks, the work was unmolded by breaking the mold that gave it shape.
Pierced with two holes for the passage of screws. Delivered ready to hang with special plaster dowel, screws, and brass screw cover.
