This ballpoint pen portrait, drawn on a London tube map, depicts pioneering grime artist JME. He defies the stereotype of grime/rap artists; his work is not centered around ostentatious displays of wealth, but rather focused on larger philosophical thought and socio political issues within British society. We are all shaped by our upbringing and the milieu we come from, JME is a Londoner, expressing experiences of racial prejudice and championing blackness with his eloquent prose .
