Original artwork description:

This piece is from a small and playful body of paintings and drawings, based upon my sketchbook work.

The series was originally conceived as a limited run of mini artworks for the Rob Pruitt's Flea Market pop-up project which took place at the A Plus A Gallery during the opening week of the 2015 Venice Biennale.

However, because of the positive response to the work, and because they've been fun to work on, I've decided to continue the series for a little longer. I also like the fact that they offer a fun and affordable way of collecting small but original pieces from my body of work, without having to pay the £2000-£20000 price tag that my larger pieces fetch in the galleries.

The majority of the paintings and drawings in this series are executed on 20 x 15 cm blocks (some pieces vary in size so check the individual artwork listings for exact sizes) of 1.8 cm thick plywood, and designed to hang as wall plaques.

An early version of my Jellyscuttle design featured as an ink drawing on card, exhibited and sold at one of the Royal College of Art's 'RCA Secret' postcard shows - a charity exhibition which I am annually invited to exhibit in.

Materials used:

acrylic paint, ink, plywood
