This captivating Lino cut features a beautifully crafted image of a jellyfish set against a serene blue background. The picture captures the grace and ethereal beauty of these mesmerising creatures of the sea.
Whether you are an avid art collector, a lover of marine life, or simply searching for a captivating piece of decor, this lino cut of a jellyfish will bring a sense of tranquillity to any environment.
Jelly Blue is 15cm w x 20 cm high and is one of an edition of 8 handprinted reduction Lino cuts.
Reduction prints are made using one block of Lino to print all the colours. The image I want to create is drawn onto the Lino, if it is a well known place or there are letters or numbers, the image needs to be put on the Lino in reverse.
I then start by carving away the parts of the Lino that I want to remain the paper colour, for me this is usually white, once this is complete I ink the block and print it. This process is repeated until all the colours are printed.
As each print is hand printed there are slight variations between each print making each one unique.
Once each colour has been printed the block of Lino can't be used again, the number of successful prints you have are how many are in the edition.
This is printed using Caligo Safewash vegetable oil based ink on Somerset Satin 300GSM paper.
The print is numbered, titled and signed on the front. The printed image is 15 x 20 cm. It is sold unmounted and unframed.
The image will be sent securely packaged by Royal Mail.
