Jean-Luc Godard linocut by Ian Viggars: 14.8 cm x 21 cm (A5)
Hand printed and finished. Includes the print number, work title, and artist's signature written in pencil. Printed onto fine grain heavyweight paper with blue water based ink.
The print edition is limited to 24, as in film being 24 frames per second.
Each of these prints has been produced by hand, from the initial designing and cutting of the lino to the inking and printing. As a result, small variations are inherent in the process, making each print unique with its own character and distinguishing marks. Each one is an original numbered piece of art.
This linocut print is a tribute to the legendary French new wave film director Jean-Luc Godard, who passed away in 2022. The original photo of him examining some strips of film was likely taken in the early 1960's while Godard was working on À bout de souffle. It was featured on the cover of film magazine Sight & Sound upon the director's death, as pictured.
Free UK postage, with a small charge elsewhere.
The print will be wrapped and contained within a clear plastic wallet, and mailed in a hard backed envelope.
Sold unframed but will fit any standard A5 frame size.
