Artwork description:

Lurking with eyes barely breaking the water’s surface, a crocodile patiently waits and calculates as a wildebeest herd drinks at Grumeti River in Serengeti National Park. It targets a calf, then swims underwater and erupts vertically in an attempt to catch it. The calf reacts instinctively in the nick of time and the crocodile falls back into the river.

The migrating herds are not familiar with the crocodiles, which are terrors almost beyond comprehension. There is no chase, just a sudden explosion as a nightmare of yellow gin-trap jaws and bristling teeth launches with no warning out of the pool.
