Japanese anemones by the bay
Happy flowers,
Pretty pink,
Calming sea shades,
Lavender blue and turquoise,
My dream garden by the coast.

Words and experience of staying in a cottage by the sea in my past memories in South Devon.
Original impressionist watercolour on extra rough textured watercolour paper bockingford 452gsm 200lb. I used a graduated washes for my background and applied with a Chinese hake. While the paper was damp I used my Japanese mop squirrel hair brush to paint the flowers. I worked in an expressive and precise way when I had painted the pink petals I pressed the yellow for the centre of the flowers and then green. The stems were applied last I mixed some azure blue watercolour ink into the permanent rose.

Extra rough textured watercolour paper bockingford 425gsm 200lb, Chinese hake, filbert brush, Japanese mop squirrel hair brush, watercolour ink Windsor and Newton watercolours,
