This graphic was made in 2015, as a part of an experimental project, in which I explored the use variety of graphic elements as a tool to express a French song. I had the chance to do a drypoint, a printmaking technique in which an image is incised into a zinc plate with a hard-pointed "needle" of sharp metal or diamond point, then colour is added to it, manually, and then it is printed on the special press, using a special graphic paper.
The power of pressure, used in the process of creating a drawing on the plate, defines the sensibility of lines and shapes on it. I tried to connect this graphic composition with the sensibility of music, as the two reflected on each other. Not only by gathering a variety of lines but also by a variety of shapes, curved and sharp, as soft and strong. I find the beauty in merging contrast elements so that they inosculate into a new autonomous 'shape', which is unique, stands and 'breaths' on its own.
The song is called Toi Et Moi.
