This is a small piece (11" x 8") entitled 'Jade's Bridge', painted on gessoed wood. The underpainting was done using ink and sandpaper, by far the most satisfying way to paint, I think. The next stage was egg-tempera, layers/glazes of pigments bound by egg yolk and again sanded down to merge with the underpainting. Finally I used fine layers/glazes of oil paint which gave the painting a bit more vibrancy ... hope you like it.
