Original artwork description:

Jade and turquoise sea
A sea serpent in the sky,
Uplifting cloud effects,
Atmospheric light,
Misty horizon,
As I stand on the grassy small sand dunes.

Words and feelings,
Original expressive watercolour on extra rough watercolour paper acid free bockingford 300gsm 140lb.
I created this watercolour seascape in the Art garden studio for my YouTube art demonstrations. I created wet on wet washes using a sable hair brush. Being expressive for the movement and energy of the sky and sea. It was a happening on the paper. If you study my series of short art demos online you will see bit by bit , how this painting was achieved, by leaving areas of dryness a sea serpent shape appeared in the sky. I had to make sure I didn’t paint over this natural effect. For the detail in the foreground I used my filbert brush to create the rocks and a fan brush for the grasses.
Inspiration was looking across from Ham beach between Weymouth bay and the Jurassic coastline of Dorset. The colours are always different shades of jade and turquoise.

Materials used:

Extra rough textured watercolour paper acid free bockingford 300gsm 140lb, peobeo watercolours, filbert brush, sable hair brush, fan brush,
