Original artwork description:

colour sumi inks on 200gm paper. 15 x 22 in., 38 x 55 cm.
Another item from my past, done in 1992! This is done at a time when in a Zen way I just painted what was in front of me. My paints then were traditional Chinese ink sticks which I would grind in a wet stone. Colours are basic, but brilliant to this day.
Here’s an expressive interpretation of the Jackfruit tree in the back yard where I had set myself up to paint. This is a common tree in tropical Asia.
My paintings in that period were done free hand, without preliminary sketches nor any working lines on the paper. This is paint applied directly on a blank page.
Please note this is not an acid free paper and it has yellowed and spotted somewhat over time, adding to the charm of this project.
The close up pictures are to get a feel for the texture and brush strokes of the painting.
Then there’s the photoshoot.
