This photo was taken in 1999, on a trip to the Amalfi Coast in Italy. I found this tree on the grounds of a monastery that dates back to the 9th century. The way the ivy twined around it, each supporting the other, reflected the timelessness of the place to me.
This part of Italy is still one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited, and I long to go back there someday.
