Original artwork description:

This work examines the nature of relationships, both tribal and more conventional. Leopards circle the young, perhaps naive couple, who want to keep things together. Can they survive? The one symbol is African and symbolizes a good marriage, as it's a blanket and if you have a blanket then you have a good husband. Various other images surfaced for the artist during the work and are of a more personal nature. The other symbols in the background are also African in origin and relate to concepts such as "perseverance," "friendship," etc. All things that serve to bind a couple. The couple is gendered here for the sake of expression, but could indeed represent any of the LGBTQA+ relationships.

Materials used:

acrylic, enamel, spraypaint, pen
