ISABELLA BRANT by Peter Paul Rubens. (1577-1640).
Isabella Brant was the first wife of the Antwerp master. The original painting was painted by Rubens a few years before his beloved wife died. Isabella's face, through gestures, facial expression and movements, conveys passion and sensuality. I have placed Isabella's elaborate face in a setting that is at least theatrical and mysterious, a tribute to this beautiful woman who ascended to heaven at just 36 years of age. Isabella Brant wears a heavy, rich dress garnished with precious chains. Against this dark fabric, her noble, tapering hands stand out in a very elegant and studied pose. Just as elegant and studied is this interpretation of mine, which is intended as a modest homage to this great Baroque master.
Merging classical works of art with contemporary digital art techniques. Combining tradition and modernity, bringing the protagonists of the original works into surreal, fanciful, lunar settings. Each image is the result of a creative process that includes advanced digital manipulation and meticulous post-production. The high-definition giclèe print on canvas is retouched by hand, and treated with protective varnish to make it resistant and long-lasting.
Limited Edition works, signed and numbered on the back, specially designed to be more accessible. Unique and innovative. By Ezio Ranaldi
