Artwork description:

That was the second day of a project with the amazing composer and musician Hania Rani. We went all the way to Bieszczady - one of the wildest corners of Poland - a place of great significance to her. We were working on a music video and photos for her piano book. She wanted us to capture the locations that inspired her first album "Esja'.

That time we were climbing through the forest and as I led the way, I turned around to call Hania and caught another dimension of the scene from the corner of my eye - the fading grid of shadows. Before I had time to react, the sun hid behind the clouds leaving me in the dark wood.

I took the camera and carefully built my composition. I loved the contrast between the trees and the untouched white snow on the left. The uphill path divided them with a diagonal line in the middle of the frame. I made sure I left enough space for the feast I was waiting for.

After maybe 10 minutes, an opening in the clouds revealed a hidden orgy of shadows and light. Rays were skimming the hillside, allowing the textures of the snow to speak out. The rhythm of the dark woods replicated by angled shadows on the snow, crushed in the middle of frame. Everything created a very strong, geometrical landscape. All I had to do was release the shutter.

The title is inspired by PJ Harvey's 'Who Will Love Me Now'. After all, we have all found ourselves in the dark woods at some point, waiting to be found.
