Painting is inspired by a recent visit to Ironbridge Gorge in Shropshire England.
This is a larger follow up work to the previously sold 'Ironbridge Gorge'
In this work I have attempted to convey the sense of peace and tranquility one experiences in such dramatic settings, light dappled through the tree canopies, the gentle noises of water and leaves moving on their branches above. All these natural elements combine to resinate with our deeper senses.
'The Wonder of the World, The Beauty and the Power, The Shapes of Things, Their Colours Lights and Shades, These I Saw, Look Ye Also While Life Lasts'. – "Denys Watkins-Pitchford".
Due to their nature, use of metallic oils creates a finish which changes in hues and colour intensity when viewed in different light conditions and angles creating a constantly changing pictorial image. Painting mediates between thick 'impasto' handling of paint to smooth translucent washes.
Painting is mounted in a 40mm thick 'Floating' style black varnished frame.
Pictures are taken with a canon 450D camera in dull daylight in flash off mode and are as faithful as i can take them.
Painting will come varnished and completely ready to hang with brass eyelits and cord with varnished in (sealed) signed certificate to the rear.
Oil on canvas over professionally made deep edge braced frame.
