An Irish Claddagh Rings symbolizes Love (the heart), Loyalty (the crown), and Friendship (the hands holding the heart)

This is a sort-of self-portrait. A study of my ageing hands holding the now silver hair (that I really enjoy) and featuring an Irish Claddagh ring as well as a pair of fine but ornate earrings.

This was created in late 2013 around the time of my sixtieth birthday.
It is drawn in pencil and painted with Winsor & Newton professional watercolour on Khadi Indian handmade paper, a textured medium weight paper with a deckled edge.
