Irises with bluebells.
Many people turn to painting irises. I, too, could not resist the urge to touch this subject. Bearded irises grow in my garden, and I pay attention to their colour palette and the uniqueness of the flower. To emphasise them, I created a contrasting background that appears to be black but is actually a multitude of shades, from Indian yellow to alizarin and purple in the final glaze stage. I really like the resulting glow of the inner layer. I used bells that grow in the woods as an additional inclusion.
The linen canvas is additionally primed.
The coloured underpainting helps to create the inner range of colours. A few glossy words help to add extra colour and highlight details.
The painting is framed in a wooden baguette.
Original painting.
Ready to hang on the wall.
