I was born and spent most of my life in a large industrial city between Europe and Asia. Fortunately, we have a village house and a small garden. I love coming there in the spring so much. I enjoy the silence and clean air.
We have long, cold winters.
I admit I am not a cold weather lover, so seeing my spring garden emerging would make me very happy!
This lilac iris is one of my favourites. I painted pictures with iris more than once.
Here is a small sketch in oil on cardboard.
One large iris is in the foreground.
Delicate petals shine through in the sun.
The green background indicates the garden's foliage and contains an abundance of iris buds in various stages of opening. They were painted in oil with iridescent oil on board.
