This angelic and maternal female figure came about via a free flow of imagination. Starting with the portrait I decided she had a nurturing mother nature quality about her. Daisies are symbols of purity and innocence, they are also the sacred flower of the Norse Goddess Freya who is associated with love, beauty , fertility and sex so the idea further grew from these symbols. I used watercolors overlaid with some very subtle blending of colored pencil, my main objective was to create an iridescent and magical glow to the figure, an ethereal angel-like presence.
