Original artwork description:

This is one of a series of paintings on the theme of Iona - the tiny Scottish Island, a place of incandescent blue sea and white sands. The quality of light and ancient history of peace, draw me back each year. I paint in watercolours, sitting on the rocks, overlooking the sea, then back in my studio use these studies to create oil paintings. I have been painting versions of 'Iona Blue' for many years, they are like a mantra or meditation.
