A still from Inyo National Park, California as winter gives way to spring. Trekked the morning in spring sunshine, basking in the light. By mid morning the sky had darkened and lost the sun. The birds no longer sang and all sounds of a new day had disappeared. The only sounds were my footsteps. I stopped to be with the stillness, to listen to the earth. A beautiful quiet. Gradually the music began. The wind whispered through the grasses which then rustled, the trees swayed as the whispers turned into howls, stronger, louder, finally branches buckled, the sky thickened heavy with rain, the distant rumbles became thunderous and surrounding. Spring gave way to winters orchestra. Perfect moments like these treasured and remembered by being still and being present. I love the rain
The Californian plains of the mighty Inyo National park, the quiet before a storm. I have intentionally printed the print with a slightly squeed border to replicate the strange eerie quiet before a storm, that feeling you get when you know everything is about to change. I can print the image non squeed with a traditional border. Please see the secondary image. Let me know if this is your preference.
