Original artwork description:

I have been thinking a lot about the future of technology and how it will impact us as a species. The integration of humans and technology has already begun and it is both exciting and terrifying.

The organic blending of synthetic material with flesh and organs is quite fascinating to me...perhaps I am used to it being a consultant at a hospital where I film in the operating room. Seeing the patients on the table...draped except on small patch of body that looks nothing like a person. It is disconcerting being removed from the context of that person, that being on the table, reduced to a section of life, animation and existence.

So I have been building these little works, which will expand to larger sizes. I am using hardware, magnetic tape, PVC glue, pigment, and spray paint to get an organic feel. I also used the frame and the frame back to emulate the opening of the body.

This is fun, experimental, and completely steam-of-conscious.

Enjoy.

Materials used:

Acrylic, spray paint, PVC glue, Screws, Magnetic Tape, Frame backing board.
