This painting represents a confident nude female coming out of the grey and darkness and walking towards the light. This painting shows the back of the female form as she is walking away and leaving darkness behind her. She is not fully formed and her surrounding make part or her form. This painting is about self love and self development, the light she is walking towards is not that of the end of life but towards a brighter self made future.



To paint this piece I used pallet knife texture in the grey of the background and outer painting to show the ripples and challenges faced when taking a path of self development and improvement. The brushstrokes of the female form are to show the more gentle and vulnerable side of the human journey.
