Original artwork description:

The inspiration for this piece was a subtle grid composition. I started with a base collage of various papers consisting of blue prints, watercolor paper, etc. From there I added layers of various paint colors and divided the canvas into a grid-like structure. When I paint it is usually have a general idea of the composition and let the process unfold organically without too much adherence to the initial concept. I felt I achieved a balanced and pleasing composition with plenty of cool details. At first glance this is a beige and white painting, but upon further inspection there are several other colors within the bars. The result is a graphic structured painting that I love.
