Original artwork description:

Late Autumn brings mixed weather to the lake district : following a fantastic walk around Buttermere lake the clouds suddenly parted and the sun shone creating the most intense reflections on the water's surface. The drama of the light was intensified by the deep dark tones of the fells in the distance. I simply had to stop and do some quick pencil sketches and make comprehensive colour notes to jog my memory concerning the brilliance of the sunlight on the water. My aim was to capture the play of light which is so fleeting in an oil painting.

On returning to the studio I worked on the composition and started to produce the final artwork. It certainly lifts one's mood to see the beauty of light in nature.

Intense Light is a framed (white grain wood frame - can be overpainted) original oil painting created and painted by myself. The back of the artwork is signed and you will receive a Certificate of Authenticity.
