The painting was painted in 2021, in winter, right from the place where there used to be a wonderful old wooden bridge. We can only see its skeleton. But a new high, comfortable, light bridge has been built over it, on which thousands of young and elderly people pass every day, walking in a string like a stream.

The day was very frosty. It’s the middle of winter. There is no bad weather, there are bad clothes, so says an old proverb. And it works in relation to the artist's outfit. Here it is necessary to approach the issue seriously. Because in general it's terribly cold, fingers are freezing, legs are stiff, face is frostbitten. But nothing compares to a live winter job. And, although it takes a lot of courage and health for such work, the artist does not deny himself this. And he looks like a fisherman in his clothes. The bridge is located exactly between the workshop and the house. Therefore, the ways of salvation and warming are close. Immediately after the study, hot tea and the soup. And a good night's sleep is always provided.

Nothing compares to the vivid feeling of a frosty picture. You can't do that from a photo. See that blue shadows and snow-white plains. All the previous night, it was snowing all over the neighborhood. The sky is transparent and so full of hope and aching happiness. Very large strokes with a palette knife are combined with delicate work with a brush, the drawing is done appropriately - in details that help the eye to walk around the whole picture.

By the way, no alcohol at the winter plein air. This is immediately a failure. Just hot tea. Alcohol makes you freeze even more after a short time. Tested on my own experience. And besides, I really want to always write with a clear mind. To convey the perfection of a winter day as accurately as possible.
