This work is inspired by the Nymph Salmacis by Bosio, a Franco-Monegasque sculptor, painter, draftsman and engraver of the 18th and 19th centuries.
In Ovid's Metamorphoses, the fusion of the Nymph Salmacis, a young and pretty naiad, and Hermaphrodite, the bisexual son of Hermes and Aphrodite, gave birth to the first androgynous being.
It is unique! Its edges are painted, so it does not require framing and it is ready to hang! It is signed on the front (bottom right), dated and named on the back and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
