It was here, a long time ago, on a clear summer night,
coming back from the peña, guitar on my shoulder, and from meeting
the most beautiful eyes, that without wanting to hurt me,
they went on to other places, never to return.

It was here, long ago, that I shared with you,
the song that my soul sang in love,
as spontaneous as the spring here,
and that since that awakening, remains forgotten.

Eyes that took something of mine...
Copla de una sola madrugada...
Some nights I wait for you until the point of the dew,
Lucero, inspire me once again with that in love couplet.
