When I paint on aluminium I am always drawn to this style of painting. This was another work and I sanded it off to see where it would take me. The marks of the sander were so distinct I decided to leave an area of the metal unpainted. This is the view from the window of my train from London to Waterloo. Autumn trees flashing past. Streaks of gold and ochre, sienna and cobalt blue.
The aluminium panels are made for me and mounted on a subframe so that they float on the wall.
