The painting was done on canvas, previously textured with gesso to create general outlines of beams and other structural elements of the building. Then I turned to acrylic: the expression of color and its overflows to show the gentle, warm light emanating from the candelabra, gently reflecting off centuries-old walls. It was fast, as the momentary mood tells me. So I can say that this work is a living experiment with color and texture. The picture is literally saturated with church incense, the smell of which I felt in the process, in order to better tune in the right mood and be as involved as possible.
