Like visual maps of our psychologies, Inner Warrior I&II explore the defence mechanisms we deploy in order to survive, the contradictions, the little rituals, the bouts of self-destruction that make us human. For these 2 prints I have gone back to what excites me the most in image making which is story telling. From the tiny wolf waiting to pounce in the pocket, to the kiss-traps ready to close on lips that may come too close, each detail adorning the warriors, acts as a talisman to counteract the fears and protect.
