Original artwork description:

I this abstract in the second wave of the covid-19 virus in the UK, just before Christmas 2020. It is a large colourful and dynamic piece, full of hope and happiness and looking forward to the spring of 2021, when hopefully things will start to improve.

The title comes from "Indigo Night" by Tamino, which I was listening to during part of the final stages of the painting. However, it didn't feel like a night painting, so it was named "Indigo Dawn". This also happens to be the title of an excellent song by Yizakat.

It is painted with acrylic paint on stretched canvas. A variety of mark-making techniques were used and the painting has many levels of detail that can be appreciated at different distances.

It is ready to hang and would look great in a variety of settings.

Materials used:

Acrylic paint brushed over canvas. A variety of marks made with different techniques, including the edge of a palette knife and direct application from the end of the paint tube.
