The choice of the subject as well as that of the chromatic tones give this work a dark, painful and at the same time surreal atmosphere: a young woman lies stretched out on a sofa, her arms along her body, her face reclined, her eyes closed. But there is a vital element that captures the attention, the wooden branch, of an intense red, the leitmotif of many of the artist's works.
