Original artwork description:

"Incandescence" is an expansion of my earlier wood structure... all of which were two-dimensional. Cool but flat. The discovery that my work can withstand the integration of a 3rd dimension adds considerable areas for an expansion of my sculptural leanings. The new possibilities are technically challenging and rely on a working familiarity with fundamental engineering skills... which I don't have. So I figure all the required connections, stress points, fabrication problems in my head before I go to sleep. Basically, I build my work, stage by stage, in my head. Such a challenge and so damn fun. I've built enough stuff over the years so I can anticipate a problem before butting my head against the issue as the construction begins.
