This painting is part of the series “small figures” and shows a couple gathered around a fire in the middle of a forest. A man is arriving from the dark: a disturbing element which can be interpreted both as a friend or a stranger. The giant trees look at the scene, majestic. In this artwork I painted large monochromatic areas to build the environment (the ground, the sky) and added ultra detailed elements on them. The mix of these techniques is quite misorienting and enhance the sense of mystery aroused by the scene.

“In the woods” is a 50x70cm oil on linen, strechted on a supported wooden frame and ready to hang.
