This is another painting on the creation of the gospel song Amazing Grace. It is also another edition to our series created on a section of Sail Boat Canvas. I love to take discarded items and refurbish them into works of art. I was able to obtain a large amount of Sailboat Sail material through an acquaintance that is a dear friend of my Sister. So I am going to re-purpose small sections of this sail material into works of art concerning sailing sailboats and religious. I also do commission works on this material. These section will not be perfect shapes since they are not sewn square. I want them look like torn sections of a lost ship. This one is called, " In the Stillness ... the Light of Salvation! " It is based on he story of the ship captain John Newton around the year 1772. If you don't know this story you should check it out. It is my favorite Tall ship story because it always gives me hope to push on. This section of sail material measure 16 inches by 15 inches. As you can see it is rustic. It is unraveled on the edges and wrinkled... like a section of sail found on the beach. I feel it would look great hung on a wall with tacks, or matching colored push pins. Some of my clients have attached them to small wooden rods and hung them with string and rope. Looked great! I think it looks awesome with the slight wrinkles and imperfections.
