Garden of the Gods Park is a registered National Natural Landmark in Colorado Springs. This painting was inspired by its dramatic views, towering rock formations against a backdrop of snow-capped Pikes Peak and brilliant blue skies.
This painting features a lot of texture with multiple layers of oil paint, applied with a palette knife.

Materials used to create this artwork:
Oil on Paris Oil Primed Artists' Ultimate Stretched Linen Canvas.
Premium Heavy Duty, classic European-style stretched linen canvas with medium texture. Linen is hand-washed and pumiced for a fine surface, primed with a luxurious non-absorbent, non-yellowing, off white oil primer. Linen is 1” deep, stretched on 2-1/4" wide stretcher-bars. Heavy sculptural look of texture applied with a palette knife.

The painting is varnished, unframed, and ready to hang without a frame.
