Words and meaning of a special time of the year where the fruit trees are magnificent.
Original impressionist watercolour on bockingford 300gsm 140lb cold pressed tinted blue.
I started with wet on wet background using my sable hair brush and a small fan brush for the shaping of the blossom trees while the paper was wet. I left the painting to dry, then went back to it using my fan brush plus my filbert brush to dab, press and mark make to get the desired build up of pink. I used my filbert for the tree trunks and underneath. I added some bluebells that I didn’t want defined and used high pigment Japanese watercolour paint. I have signed the back of the watercolour.
My inspiration was a local scene in North Dorset in Gillingham, Peacemarsh.
