In the Company of Silence is a calming oil painting of a Barn owl's successful hunt for a small vole above the flowering cow parsley of the North Devon fields. The painting was made using numerous layers of highly pigmented oil paint on a hand stretched and triple primed canvas.

These magical creatures have silky soft comb-like feathers that dampen the sounds of airflow caused by the beating of their powerful wings. This means that their flight is almost silent and their sudden swooping appearances often imperceptible to prey.

This painting is ready to hang, as it has been painted on canvas and varnished to protect the paint surface. It is signed on the front, and a catalogued certificate of authenticity is attached to the reverse.
