Words and thoughts .
Original impressionist watercolour on extra rough textured watercolour paper bockingford 300 gsm 140lb . I used a three colour technique mixing the three colours to create many tonal shades. A wet on wet technique using a Chinese hake for the sky and background colours.
I created the Christmas trees when the washes are drying and used a Chinese brush to get the expressive detail.
My inspiration for this watercolour is observing this scene on my route through the north Dorset countryside and Royal Gillingham Forest.
