On the last day of the PNW Plein Air event, I headed to the orchards of Maryhill to escape the heat and gusts. This tiny community of less than 3 square miles is marked by a little church, peach groves, an art museum and public park and campgrounds. Situated behind the church was this run down gas station. I was drawn to it for its warm bounced light, cool cast shadows, minty green vintage gas pumps and car. The steeple of the church cast a blue shadow in great contrast to the warmly lit cream building.
