Artwork in contemporary figurative style dedicated to the memory of Blessed Ambrogio Sansedoni, who was born in Siena on April 16, 1220, and of whom I have created the imaginary portrait. He had exceptional gifts of persuasion and it is also due to him that, because of the disagreement between the Council of Lyons and the Emperor Frederick II, a schism did not break out in Germany in 1245. He died a victim of his zeal on March 20, 1286 in Siena during a sermon, because he spoke with such vehemence against usurers that he broke twice a vein in his chest, causing his sudden death. Siena mourns and honors him, makes him a patron saint of the city, and prays to his relics in the Basilica of San Domenico. A bust of him will be placed on the facade of the cathedral, and up to half '500 will dispute a Palio dedicated to him: in the painting I represented Him with the miniature of His Siena in His hands.
