A sparkling and joyful expressive artwork, created by gesture oil painting on canvas. Bold and mischievous brushstrokes behave like instruments in jazz, intertwining, creating new timbres or leading their own themes. The word "blues" in the title is used in the same way as in George Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue" and refers to both the colour and musical style of the blues.

For me painting is like composing music on canvas. The colours and their relationships to each other can be as expressive as the chords and notes in music, and the brushstrokes can reveal a melody and rhythmic pattern. It is important to me to keep the artwork open to interpretation by the viewer so that there is something new to see each time. Just as you listen to music, you hear it differently each time and it is always very personal.

I strive to make the painting dynamic, with a musical movement that expresses a flow of time and thought. 'Music on canvas' is not an end in itself. The main goal is to express thoughts and feelings, to convey an emotional state and to evoke associations.

When I paint, I always improvise. Sometimes I have to let go of the brush so that it can make itself independent. Then the brush moves faster than my thoughts.
