"Imagining a flight". Diptych.
The child's concentrated expression made me think of the flight of an airplane. I felt I wanted to describe an intimate scene , a scene of waiting. The expectation of an arrival. Perhaps the arrival of someone familiar, like an airplane pilot father. A father who arrives toward evening, at the time when the lights inside the houses are turned on. This was the thought with which I composed the painting. But the reading can have many more variations. Each man his own story.
The 3 canvases are joined at the back and have a strip that frames them together, it can be hung like this or you can frame it.
